Form fields for the e-invoice

TAXES Fields for Gravity Forms

Calculating net, tax and gross correctly, even when one form contains different tax rates: TAXES Fields for Gravity Forms takes care of it. The plugin brings pricing fields with VAT into your forms, and the visitor sees the amounts while still choosing. On saving, your server calculates everything again, so the entry holds only amounts that the server itself has determined.

The principle: each pricing field carries a tax code that sets the tax rate and the tax category. From this, the form calculates the net amount, the tax per tax code and the gross amount. Gravity Forms is a form plugin for WordPress.

Who it is for

For order and quote forms with tax.

The plugin is for order and quote forms that have to show net prices with different tax rates, in Germany for example 19% and 7%. It also suits forms whose amounts will later go into an e-invoice. An e-invoice is an invoice as a structured file that a program can read. It helps that you also set the tax category and, where needed, the exemption reason for each tax code, which are the tax details an e-invoice requires.

What it does for you

Three pricing fields
product, option and shipping, each with a tax code
Three result fields
net amount, tax breakdown and gross amount
Tax codes
tax rate, country, tax category and exemption reason
The building blocks of the plugin: pricing fields, result fields and your own tax codes.
  • Three pricing fields. Product (e-invoice), Option (e-invoice) and Shipping (e-invoice) show their choices as a drop down, as radio buttons or as checkboxes, so the display fits your form.
  • Three result fields. Net amount, Tax breakdown and Gross amount (e-invoice) show the visitor what they will pay while they are still choosing, with the tax broken down per tax code.
  • Tax codes in one place. You manage your tax codes on a page of their own. Each one has the tax rate, the country, the tax category according to Peppol and the exemption reason according to the VATEX list. Peppol is a European network for exchanging e-invoices, and VATEX is the code list of reasons for a tax exemption.
  • Calculated instantly, confirmed by the server. In the browser, the form calculates right away. After saving, the server calculates again, and that result is the one that counts.
  • Conditional logic is respected. If Gravity Forms hides a pricing field under your rules, it does not count.

What it does not do

  • It does not work with the payment add-ons of Gravity Forms, such as Stripe or PayPal. The fields of the plugin are not product fields of Gravity Forms, and the Total field of Gravity Forms does not see them either.
  • It stores only amounts in the entry. It does not store the text of the chosen option or the quantity.
  • It does not come with ready-made tax codes. You create your tax codes once yourself.
  • It does not create an invoice. That is the job of the plugins eInvoice Generator for Gravity Forms and eInvoice Generator for Gravity PDF, which are introduced below.

In the form

How it works.

1 · Visitor chooses
product, option, shipping
2 · Browser calculates
net, tax, gross
3 · Server recalculates
after saving
4 · Amounts in the entry
determined by the server
How the amounts come about: the browser calculates while the visitor chooses, and on saving, the server recalculates the amounts that count.

There is no demo to try on this page yet. The manual shows you step by step how to set up the plugin and create your tax codes.

SEPA fields

SEPA Fields for Gravity Forms brings three validated fields for bank details: IBAN, BIC and Creditor Reference according to ISO 11649. Each field checks the input on submission, so only valid bank details end up in the entry.
