eInvoice Generator for Gravity Forms

Every Gravity Forms entry becomes an invoice your customer can read and, if you like, an e-invoice their software can read at the same time. eInvoice Generator for Gravity Forms writes both itself and does not need Gravity PDF. The plugin is a paid product, available in the invoicePress.de shop.

An e-invoice is an invoice as a structured file. The European standard EN 16931 defines which details it contains. The plugin embeds the e-invoice in the PDF as ZUGFeRD or Factur-X, the names used in Germany and France for a PDF with an embedded e-invoice. If you like, it is also created as an XRechnung, the German standard for invoices to public authorities, or as Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, the invoice format of the European Peppol network.

Who uses it.

The plugin is made for website operators who sell, collect membership fees or donations, or bill for services through Gravity Forms and have to issue e-invoices for this. It reads the buyer and the invoice lines from the entry, and with the Gravity Forms notification the finished invoice reaches your customer without any extra step.

From the entry to the e-invoice in your customer’s hands, in four steps and without Gravity PDF.

What it does

  • An invoice for every entry. The plugin creates an invoice PDF for every entry and lays it out with one of the four included print layouts, Info bar, Kontor, Ledger or Business Central, so you do not need a template of your own.
  • The e-invoice inside the PDF. If you like, it embeds a ZUGFeRD or Factur-X XML in the PDF and then writes the PDF as PDF/A-3. That is a PDF format for archiving that allows embedded files. Your customer receives one file that people and programs can both read.
  • XRechnung and Peppol as separate files. If you like, it writes an XRechnung and a Peppol invoice as separate XML files, optionally with the PDF inside as an attachment. That way public authorities and recipients in the Peppol network also get the format they expect.
  • The invoice arrives on its own. It is ready for download on the entry, and the plugin attaches it to the notifications you choose. A notification is the email that Gravity Forms sends after a form is submitted.
  • Templates to get started. Four included templates cover common cases; you can see them below in the section “How to get started”.
  • Payment means without extra work. It derives the payment means from the payment gateway of the entry, for example PayPal or Stripe.
  • Two languages. It works in English and in German.

What it does not do

  • One VAT rate per invoice. An invoice contains exactly one VAT category and one VAT rate. At most one line with a zero rate for untaxed shipping costs can be added. The plugin does not create invoices with several VAT rates.
  • No gapless number sequence. Without a setting of your own, the invoice number is the entry number. If you need a gapless sequence, connect a counter plugin. Section 4 of the manual explains how.
  • No sending over a network. The plugin does not send invoices over Peppol or any other network. The invoice leaves as an email attachment or is downloaded.
