Form fields for the e-invoice

SEPA Fields for Gravity Forms

With bank details, every character counts. SEPA Fields for Gravity Forms brings three fields for bank details into your forms that check every input on submission: IBAN, BIC and Creditor Reference. The plugin checks more than the outer form, including the check digits. That is why the entry holds valid details and not just text that looks right.

A quick explanation: the IBAN is the international account number, and the BIC is the international identifier of a bank. The Creditor Reference according to ISO 11649 is a payment reference with check digits that starts with “RF”. Gravity Forms is a form plugin for WordPress.

Who it is for

For every form that asks for bank details.

The plugin is for forms that collect bank details, for example for payouts, SEPA direct debit mandates or onboarding new partners. It also helps developers who need a validated IBAN in the settings of their own plugin.

The check runs entirely inside the plugin on your own server. Your visitors’ bank details are not sent to any outside service for this.

What it does for you

IBAN
check digits and country format for 121 countries
BIC / SWIFT
length, structure and country code
Creditor Reference
the leading “RF”, check digits and length
The plugin’s three fields and what each of them checks on submission.
  • IBANs without typos. The visitor enters the IBAN comfortably in blocks of four characters. The field checks the check digits and the country format for 121 countries, so a typo is caught as soon as the form is submitted.
  • BICs with a checked structure. The BIC / SWIFT field checks length, structure and country code.
  • Creditor References with a check digit. The Creditor Reference field checks the leading “RF”, the check digits and the length.
  • Can be limited to one country. If you wish, IBAN and BIC only accept details from a specific country.
  • Stored consistently, displayed for easy reading. All values are stored in upper case and without spaces. In the entry view, IBAN and Creditor Reference appear in blocks of four, so you can compare them easily.
  • Also usable in other plugins. The same checks are available as field types for the settings pages of other plugins.

What it does not do

  • It does not check whether an account really exists, nor whether the account belongs to the stated holder.
  • It does not create a direct debit mandate or a payment file.

In the form

How it works.

1 · Enter the IBAN
in blocks of four
2 · Checked on submission
check digits and country format
3 · Valid IBAN stored
consistent, without spaces
How input works: the visitor types the IBAN, the field checks it on submission, and the entry holds valid details.
